Research shows that uncomfortable therapy is one of the top reasons patients reject positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment.1 That's why ResMed developed the S9 VPAPTM Series of bilevel devices. Designed to improve compliance in your most challenging PAP patients, the S9 VPAP incorporates features that enhance comfort and provide a peaceful, quiet therapy experience for patients and their bed partners.

Medicare criteria defines therapy adherence as "use of PAP ≥ four hours a night on 70% of nights during a consecutive 30-day period any time during the first three months of initial usage."

In a recent study of 50 patients, all patients sleeping with an S9 device slept through the four hour compliance threshold. Patients who had struggled most with compliance on their existing device saw significant gains. For instance, 12% of the study participants were sleeping an average of 2.67 hours using their existing device. All of the 12% subgroup increased their sleep time to 5.43 hours on average with ResMed's S9 device.2
